So earlier this year Bybit got hit with that record-breaking $320 million hack, one of the largest in crypto history. From what I’ve read, the funds were quickly mixed and moved across chains. Every time something like this happens, the same question pops up: do these people ever face justice?
We’ve seen North Korea’s Lazarus Group linked to several hacks, and the Bitfinex hackers from 2016 were caught years later. But is that the exception or the rule? Are today’s on-chain forensics good enough to realistically trace attackers anymore, or are these funds gone forever?
