The approval of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in 2024 brought billions into the market. Institutions like BlackRock and Fidelity now hold BTC on behalf of investors. But what if tomorrow the SEC or Congress did a 180 and banned them outright?
Would we see a huge crash as institutions dump BTC? Or would it actually strengthen self-custody culture and push more people back to cold wallets like Ledger/Trezor? Given how much liquidity ETFs add, I feel like it would break the market in the short-term. What do you think — apocalypse or buying opportunity?
